World Surf League Announces Official, Multi-Year Betting Data Partnership with ALT Sports Data
SANTA MONICA, CA (April 11, 2023) — The World Surf League (WSL) has partnered with ALT Sports Data, Inc., the San Diego-based leader in trading and consumer data for action, alternative and emerging sports, as the official data distribution partner of WSL Championship Tour data to unlock new markets in the world of regulated sports betting. The partnership will leverage ALT Sports Data and its proprietary simulation trading platform to enable legal and official sports betting on WSL’s Championship Tour events.
Headquartered in Southern California, ALT Sports Data Inc. is a leading provider of exclusive and official trading data and consumer data for the alternative sports betting industry. This partnership allows sportsbook operators to create pre-event markets and manage in-game odds, giving fans an innovative and exciting way to connect with their favorite sport. This is the first data partnership of WSL in the fast-growing U.S. sports betting market.
“Working with ALT Sports Data to advance our position in the global gaming marketplace is a great opportunity for the WSL. We know that legal sports betting drives fan engagement. We are excited to scale our offering by partnering with a company who knows our sport well and has deep relationships with global operators,” said Cherie Cohen, WSL Chief Revenue Officer.
The 2023 Championship Tour includes 10 regular-season events in seven countries, starting in January at the Billabong Pro Pipeline and concluding at the SHISEIDO Tahiti Pro, before the Rip Curl WSL Finals at Lower Trestles in San Clemente, Calif. All the action will be broadcast LIVE on WorldSurfLeague.com, the WSL's YouTube channel, and the free WSL app. Also, check local listings for coverage from the WSL's broadcast partners.
“At ALT Sports Data, we are driven to bring new engagement to the sports that we are passionate about. As the official data partner to WSL, we will capitalize on their creative innovation and fast-paced growth by empowering their massive global audience to have a stake in the outcome of WSL events,” said Todd Ballard, CMO of ALT Sports Data.
